At TPX, we believe travel is more than just bookings — it’s about creating memories, discovering new perspectives, and connecting with people and places. To build something that truly supports modern travellers and travel professionals, we recently ran a questionnaire to better understand how people plan, book, and experience travel today.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve received responses from 758 travellers and 54 travel consultants across the UK, Europe, and the US. This included a diverse mix of solo explorers, families, working nomads, luxury seekers — and experienced professionals in the travel trade. The results have been insightful, and at times, surprising.
🌍 Experiences Are the Real Currency of Travel
A staggering 82% of travellers told us that experiences are the most important part of a trip. It’s not the flight, nor the hotel room — it’s the moment they’ll never forget: the cooking class with a local grandma in Sicily, the unexpected street performance in Prague, the night under the stars in Morocco.
But booking these kinds of moments? Nearly 90% said it’s still too fragmented. People are tired of juggling between five different apps just to plan a trip. And that’s exactly where TPX is stepping in — to streamline the journey and put experiences front and centre.
🤖 Travellers Want Simplicity, Not More Apps
One of the clearest messages we received was this: “I just want one place to do it all.” From dreaming to booking to sharing — people want a single, user-friendly platform that helps them discover, plan, and enjoy their travels without the stress.
With AI-powered recommendations, seamless booking tools, and a dedicated travel social network, TPX is aiming to do just that.
📲 Social Travel Is Here — and It’s Underserved
Over 70% of respondents said they’d love a place to share their trips with like-minded travellers — not just on traditional social media, but in a space where others truly understand the joy of discovering a hidden gem or completing a travel goal.
TPX’s social media platform is designed for travellers, by travellers. It’s a space where storytelling, tips, and real connections are prioritised — not algorithms.
🎮 Gamifying the Journey
Travel doesn’t need to stop being fun once you close the booking tab. In fact, 58% said they’d engage more with a platform that included gamified elements — like challenges, achievements, and rewards. From earning points for new countries visited to unlocking travel badges, gamification is becoming a natural fit for the experience economy.
🤝 What the Travel Consultants Are Saying
We also listened carefully to the feedback from 54 travel consultants — and it was candid.
52 % of consultants saw TPX as an exciting tool to showcase experiences, personalise offers, and reach younger, tech-savvy travellers in ways traditional platforms can’t. For them, TPX could act as both a marketing asset and a value-adding booking system — provided there’s clarity on commissions and the ability to track referrals or co-brand offers.
That said, 48 % voiced valid concerns. Would TPX blur the line between professional and DIY travel planning? Would it become a direct competitor to their services? These are fair questions — and we want to be transparent about our vision. We have lot of work to do to better communicate our core concept.
We don’t see TPX as a replacement for the human touch. Instead, we see it as a digital partner — something that can empower travel consultants, not sideline them. The consultants we spoke with who were most open to innovation saw TPX as a way to complement their work, free up their time, and offer more to their clients.
🧭 What’s Next?
These responses haven’t just validated our mission — they’ve shaped our roadmap. TPX is being built not just as a booking engine or social app, but as a travel ecosystem that speaks to the heart of how people want to explore the world today.
To everyone who has responded so far — thank you. Your voice matters, and it’s helping us create something better.
We’re listening. We’re building. And we’re almost ready.
Stay tuned — and keep dreaming.
