Our Story

The journey of Travel X Peria began with two school-time friends, Lahiru and Ajith, who came together to critically rethink and reimagine the travel and tourism industry they both knew so well. Lahiru, with a deep passion for travel and a career spanning over three decades in the travel industry, has travelled to more than 40 countries and worked with renowned travel companies. Ajith, a passionate explorer with a background in finance and product strategy, leads the product and pricing department as a director in one of the largest travel companies in the USA.

Together, they recognised the need to redefine how travel and tourism function. Traditional travel platforms and OTAs (Online Travel Agents) tend to focus on fragmented offerings such as booking flights and hotels or simply promote what they have available. However, they fall short of delivering a truly holistic solution — one that puts the experience at the heart of travel, making each journey unforgettable and, just as importantly, creating a vibrant space for all stakeholders to connect, collaborate and hangout.

Lahiru Jayamanne

Founder & CEO Travel X Peria

With over 25 years of experience in the global travel and tourism industry, Lahiru Jayamanne is a passionate entrepreneur and visionary leader behind Travel X Peria. His journey began as a young explorer captivated by the magic of travel — a passion that would eventually take him across more than 40 countries and into leadership roles at some of the world’s most respected travel brands.

Having witnessed the evolution of travel firsthand, Lahiru recognised a growing disconnect between traditional travel platforms and the emotional core of why people travel — to experience, connect, and create lasting memories. This realisation sparked the idea for Travel X Peria: a platform not just built to book trips, but to redefine how people experience the world together.

Today, Lahiru leads Travel X Peria with a mission to bring people closer through travel. Blending his deep industry insight with a forward-thinking approach, he continues to shape a new kind of travel ecosystem — one where experiences come first, communities thrive, and every journey tells a story.

AJITH SIGERA

Co-Founder & CFO , Travel X Peria

Ajith Sigera brings a unique blend of strategic thinking and adventurous spirit to Travel X Peria. With a background in finance and product strategy, and over three decades in the travel industry, he has spent much of his career at the helm of pricing and revenue optimisation for one of the largest travel companies in the United States.

A lifelong traveller himself, Ajith has always believed in the transformative power of travel. His professional journey has been defined by a constant curiosity — not just about new destinations, but about how to improve the way people experience and access travel. It’s this mindset that led him to co-found Travel X Peria alongside his school-time friend Lahiru.

At TXP, Ajith leads financial strategy and oversees product innovation, combining data-driven insights with a deep understanding of what modern travellers seek. His goal: to create a platform where value, experience, and personal connection converge in every journey.

RUWAN GUNATHILAKA

Founding CTO, Travel X Peria

With a lifelong passion for technology and a mind wired for innovation, Ruwan (Sandaruwan) Gunathilaka serves as the technical architect behind Travel X Peria. An award-winning programmer and two-time International Olympiad in Informatics medallist, Ruwan has spent nearly two decades building scalable tech solutions and founding multiple successful startups across the globe.

Raised in Sri Lanka and inspired by his own global adventures, Ruwan understands how technology can enhance and humanise the travel experience. At TXP, he leads the development of the platform’s AI-powered destination engine and social features, ensuring that every traveller’s journey is not just seamless, but deeply personal.
